What sourcing actually costs a 5-person agency in 2026

Boutique agency owners get quoted per seat and budget per month. The two do not line up, because the seat is never the whole cost.

So we went and read the vendors' own pricing pages in September 2026. Below is every figure they publish, with a link. Where a vendor publishes nothing, we say so rather than guess.

• hireEZ's EZ Agent has no published price at all. The page is a contact-sales form.
• hireEZ publishes one number, the $494 entry tier. Above that, its own FAQ says pricing is configured to your stack.
• LinkedIn does not publish a price for Recruiter Lite or full Recruiter on its own pages. Both route to sales.
• Bullhorn publishes Starter and Core only. Pro, Bullhorn One and every add-on are quote-only.
• Loxo Enterprise is a custom annual agreement.

The two alternatives to tooling

Most boutique owners are not really choosing between two tools. They are choosing between a tool, a contractor and a hire.

   Upwork's own rate page puts recruiters at a $50 median, typically $25 to $70 an hour. At 10 hours a week that is $13,000 to $26,000 a year, with no contract minimum. You still write the brief and quality-check every profile.

   Indeed's aggregate for the closest title runs from $51,829 at the low end to $94,678 on average. Add benefits, a seat licence and 3 months of ramp. Glassdoor's higher $134,260 average is skewed by large tech employers, so we would not budget from it.

The line item nobody puts in the spreadsheet

A seat is a licence to do the work yourself. Somebody on a 5-person team still has to learn the tool, run the searches, write the outreach and chase the ATS.

Price that hour honestly. If your top biller spends 6 hours a week sourcing instead of closing, the licence fee is the small number on the invoice.
